Mixing started today in toronto for our latest record ~ Bloodlines! Mixing is being handled by the masterful Darryl Neudorf at his studio on Lake Wilcox. http://darrylneudorf.com. We’re really excited about it ~ it’s a rocker!

It got started at Darryl’s studio in the fall and has been in full production at a cabin in Pt. Roberts with Jordan and Colin from The Hive working their magic for the past month.

We’ve had some awesome contributions from our choir of whale friends as well as Jesse from the Hive on Rhodes and Organ, JP from Great Aunt Ida laying down trumpet and Dan from Wolf Parade with backups.

Finally, we’ve got 2 shows coming up next week. June 9th in Toronto for NXNE at Clinton’s (1am) w/ Castle Project and June 11th in Montreal at Green Room w/ Poorfolk, Dave Macleod (of Timber), Octoberman and our favorite, DJ Jazzerciser (aka Liam Maloney!)… if you’re in either city, please come out and PARTY!!!

rob and marc will be performing as the duo version of octoberman in t.o. and montreal next weekend. come spread some love as it’s pretty expensive to fly out there and government grants are not a sure thing.

the whale is throwing a couple of parties out east (or out central if you wanna get specific) for the nxne weekend.  make sure you come out and spear our bands with harpoons of love (?).
